Today was a good day! Nancy and I went to church today. It was a GREAT DAY!
My Sunday School class had more than 40 in it. I'm teaching through the book of James. I have 5 weeks to teach five chapters. This was week #2.
Our people really loved on Nancy today. She needed it. In spite of our protestings, the Reynolds insisted on bringing us a meal on Monday and the Camps are bringing one on Tuesday. Later, this afternoon, Dana Templeton called and wanted to bring Nancy lunch tomorrow. WHAT GREAT PEOPLE! WHAT A GREAT CHURCH! Thank you, God for sending us to North River.
I went to a Sunday School teachers' meeting this afternoon. Don Johnson taught the teachers. As usual, he did a wonderful job. We're looking at the new material for this fall. There's a lot of it, but I think it will be okay.
I went home after this and cooked supper: Jambala, corn & greens/spinach. Yum, Yum!
Well, that's it! Sunday came and went! It was a good day! Thank you, Lord, for your blessings on us! Thank you for the prayers of your people. Thank you for blessing us as you have. Thank you, Lord!

Saturday---a day of rest????
Well, it's Saturday. I got up early this morning and went to the Farmers Market near the river. I purchased 10 pounds of black-eyed peas and a quart of blueberries. From there, I went to Riverside Feed & Seed for more purple hull pea seeds and some brush poison.
Then returned home to cook oatmeal for breakfast. Patty Roshto, my cousin Gary's wife, had stayed with us since Wednesday night. Today she leaves to go home.
After she left, I went grocery shopping. When I got home, Nancy was asleep in bed, so I put up the groceries and started shelling peas. By noon I had probably 5 pounds of peas shelled. Made tuna salad for lunch. Also I cut up a cantelope.
Back to shelling after lunch. Midafternoon found me and Nancy putting up the peas. I did the stove stuff and she iced them down and bagged them. We had 8 quarts of peas. That gives us 19 total so far this year.
Later I go up to NRC to check my classroom for tomorrow. Don Johnson had moved my class to a corner in the auditorium. I wanted to make sure I had plenty of chairs.
When I got home, Nancy had supper nearly ready. I went to the garden....picked some peas, some peppers and lots of tomatoes.
This evening was spent studying my lesson for tomorrow. Several called today. Among those were Joan Foley, Lori Shamblin, Matt, David, & Donna Wilson.
I called Rebekah Templeton to check on her after her surgery for kidney stones yesterday. She's doing fine. She is a little sore. She said she hopes to come to church tomorrow.
After a long day, we settle in for a good night of sleep. Bye all!

Dave's diagnosis
Dave & Lad went to see the Urologist today (Dr Guice). The verdict: Dave had a mixed germ cell tumor which was malignant. Too early to tell whether he got it all. Dr Guice wants Dave to have a CT of the CAP late next week. This will give any unharvested cancer cells time to show up on the scan. Dr Guice said that it did not appear to him that the cancer had spread, but it may be too soon to determine. We'll see.
In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you! PTL.

A Day From Hell
Monday was such a day! Oh, it started out alright. I went to NRC and prayed with my accountability group. That was GOOD!
Went to the hospital to check on Jill Livingston who was having surgery at DCH Outpatient. Had prayer with Rusty and Don Johnson.
Then, I went to work! I normally sit at the phone desk at the Cancer Treatment Center and take phone calls all day. Boring? Yes, but it's a job. And it's THE JOB that God has given me to do right now. But today was a little different. Today one of our registrars was out. So, I was asked to NOT ONLY do my phone desk, but also check out patients on our Medical side. That would be somewhere between 100-140 patients. Oh, one other thing. It was the Monday after a holiday, which means more phone calls than usual and a very heavy patient load. All in all, it was a day from hell!

Tuesday and all is well
Well, I go through Monday okay. Prayer with Gary and Mark at the church at 6:00 AM. Starts the day off right. Three of our 5 doctors were on vacation today, so work was a little less tense. Of course I'm the phone person, so phone calls were NOT down. But, all in all, things went well.
Had coffee at Star Bucks with Lloyd at 5:00. Sure enjoy his company.
Nancy had picked the garden by the time I got home. Many tomatoes, peppers and a fine mess of peas. Of course she expects me to shell the peas.
Late night trek to Cold Stone. I know, it's not good for me, but she insisted.
Today, after work, I get my new toy. A trailer to put behind my riding lawn mower. Have wanted one for some time. Finally dove in and purchased it. Got it from Sears. Oh yea, I have to put it together. I'll do that tonight.
